What this document is

This is what you are buying when you subscribe to Eigenslate Pro, who you are buying it from, what it costs, how it renews, how to cancel, and how refunds work. The short version: Pro is a monthly subscription; you buy it from us, and Link, a Stripe service, takes the payment, handles tax and sends your receipts; it renews each month until you cancel; you can cancel any time from your account page and keep Pro until the end of the month you paid for; and refund requests go to Link.

This summary is not the legally operative part of the document. The numbered sections below are.

Scope and relationship to other documents

These Terms of Sale govern the purchase of a Pro subscription. The Terms of Service govern your use of Eigenslate, free or Pro, and § 9 of that document points here. The Privacy Policy § 5 describes what Stripe and Link receive when you pay. Link's own terms govern the payment transaction itself. Where these Terms of Sale and the Terms of Service disagree about price, renewal, cancellation or refunds, these Terms of Sale govern.

1. Who you buy from

Pro is sold by Eigenslate. Payment is handled by Link, through Sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe affiliate, under Stripe's Managed Payments service. In practice:

  • You pay Link. Link collects the price and any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you are, and remits the tax; for tax purposes, Link's supply to you is our product. Your checkout says "Sold through Link", your receipts and invoices come from Link, and your card statement shows LINK.COM* followed by our name.
  • Link handles the transaction. Refunds, disputes and payment support are Link's. We never see or hold your payment details.
  • We remain responsible for the product. Under Link's terms, which you accept at checkout, your purchase is made from us and we are the merchant of record. Questions about what Pro includes or whether it is working come to us under the Terms of Service; questions about a charge, a receipt or a refund go to Link, and either of us will pass you to the other where needed.

2. Who may buy

You need an Eigenslate account, and the account must not be suspended or closed.

You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live, which in most places means 18. This is a condition of buying through Link, whose terms you accept at checkout: "You may only enter into these Terms if you are over the age of majority and able to enter into a legally binding contract in the country in which you reside." We state it here so that our terms and the checkout say the same thing.

The rule is about the person paying, not the person using the account. A parent or guardian can buy Pro for an account held by someone under 18: they complete the checkout with their own details, and the subscription attaches to that account.

3. What Pro includes, and what it costs

Pro adds to the free plan: 3D graphing, editing folders on your own disk, unlimited notebook documents in place of the free plan's five, unlimited cloud workspaces, and 10 GB of cloud storage in place of the free plan's 250 MB.

The price is USD 4.99 per month. Link may show and charge the price in your local currency at checkout. Tax is added at checkout where it applies to you. There is no free trial and no annual plan at present.

4. Renewal

Pro is a subscription. It renews automatically every month, and Link charges your payment method at each renewal, until you cancel. Link sends you receipts, and sends reminder emails before renewal where the law where you live requires it.

If a renewal payment fails, Link retries it for about two weeks. During that time you keep Pro. If payment has not succeeded by the end of that period, the subscription is cancelled and your account returns to the free plan.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time. Open your account page, choose Manage billing, and cancel there; you can also manage the subscription at link.com. Cancelling stops future charges. You keep Pro until the end of the month you have already paid for, and then return to the free plan.

Returning to the free plan never deletes anything. If you are over the free plan's storage, document or workspace limits at that point, your files stay exactly where they are, and you can read them; you cannot add to them until you are back within the limits or subscribe again.

6. Refunds

Refund requests go to Link support, which you can reach from your Link receipt or at link.com. Link decides refunds case by case under its own terms, may issue one within sixty (60) days of a charge, and may refuse where it finds fraud or refund abuse.

We can also refund a charge ourselves where we think that is right, and we will do so without being asked if a suspension of your account turns out to have been wrong (§ 8).

7. Price changes

If we change the price, we will tell you by email at least thirty (30) days before it takes effect, and the new price applies only from your next renewal after that date. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before then and nothing further is charged.

8. Billing if your account is suspended or closed

Nobody is billed for an account they cannot use.

  • If your account is suspended under the Terms of Service § 8, collection is paused for as long as the suspension lasts. You are not charged for that time.
  • When a suspended account is reinstated, billing resumes at the next renewal.
  • If a suspension turns out to have been wrong, we add free months to your subscription to make it good. Because of how Link handles this, the free months appear on your account and your Link receipts as a "trial".
  • If your account is closed under the Terms of Service § 8.3, the subscription is cancelled immediately and the current month is not refunded.

9. Deleting your account

A live subscription must be cancelled before your account can be deleted; the account page refuses deletion while one is active, so that you are never billed for an account that no longer exists. Cancel first under § 5, then delete.

10. Support

For anything about the service, including what Pro includes and whether it is working, contact us at support@eigenslate.com or through the report form in the app. For a charge, a receipt, a payment method or a refund, contact Link support. Link may pass a question about the service to us, and we answer those within two (2) days.

Operator: Eigenslate LLC, a California limited liability company

11. Changes to these Terms of Sale

Changes to these Terms of Sale follow the Terms of Service § 16 (Changes to these Terms): notice before a material change, previous versions kept, and no change applied to a purchase already made.
